Improcon Team had its autumn meeting with their Austrian partner associations on 16-18 September at Spomen Dom in Kumrovec, Croatia to decide about the possible directions for Improcon – Congress Of Free Improvised Music, Arts & Thoughts.
The future of our main location Spomen Dom is still uncertain, but we were fortunate enough to find and agree on a back-up venue for worst case scenario in 2017. Veliki Tabor Castle – which is one of the best preserved late medieval and renaissance fortified castles of the continental part of Croatia – is only 13 kilometers from Kumrovec, a castle museum on the top of a hill, with several indoor and outdoor spaces with excitingly challenging acoustics.
As part of the autumn meeting, partners with musical instruments had an ad-hoc improvised session at Klub Metulj in Bistrica ob Sotli, Slovenia. Participating musicians included Eva Ursprung (alto saxophone, effects), Zoran Kelava (alto saxophone) and Margarethe Maierhofer-Lischka (electric bass, effects). Photos by Nenad Borovčak
